This seminar is designed for electronics distribution personnel involved with establishing and maintaining a Fraudulent/Counterfeit Electronic Parts Avoidance Program in conformance with the requirements of AS6081. In response to the increasing volume of counterfeit electronic parts entering the aerospace supply chain, SAE has created the AS5553 standard. The document presents solutions to address the issue of counterfeit electronic parts and standardizes requirements, practices and methods for risk mitigation.
SAE has also developed a one day seminar, “Introduction to AS5553 and Counterfeit Electronic Parts Avoidance Training” to introduce participants to the standard and to provide information and training in addressing this important issue.

PRI Registrar Attends the 2011 ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement
This year, PRI Registrar hosted a booth at the event held May 16-18, 2011, in Pittsburgh, PA.
The new role of quality: Tomorrow's applications of proven quality tools was the theme. The focus of the conference was to re-examine the role that quality can play in the face of today's challenges. It also provided an array of networking opportunities and further education on the latest industry trends, as well as insight into how quality makes a global impact.
This year's conference included three keynote speakers whose work reflects the shifting role of quality: Adm. Thad Allen, USCG (Ret.), selected by President Barack Obama to serve as the National Incident Commander (NIC) for the unified response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, J.J. Irani, Tata Steel, director on the board of Tata Steel, and Barbara Corcoran, The Corcoran Group, real estate contributor for NBC's "Today" show and investor/shark on ABC's reality hit "Shark Tank".

AS9100 Upgrade from Rev. B to Rev C
