Client Rights and Responsibilities

The ANAB Accreditation Council's Certification Client Bill of Rights and Responsibilities is intended to promote the understanding of accredited certification.
Client Bill of Rights

PRI Registrar - The OASIS Database

The OASIS database is a product of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). OASIS houses supplier and audit assessment data for all companies who hold an accredited certification in any of the AQMS series of Standards (i.e. - AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120). The IAQG has set firm requirements regarding the inclusion of aerospace certified suppliers in the OASIS database. Simply put, it is not optional - if you hold an accredited certificate to AS9100, AS9110 or AS9120 - you must be entered into the OASIS database. SAE document AS9104 details the Certification Bodies' requirements for Aerospace Certification Programs. We are bound by these requirements as stated on our aerospace certificates, "The audit was conducted in accordance with the requirements of SAE AS9104 Rev. A." (Reference SAE AS9104 - Requirements for Aerospace Quality Management System Certification / Registrations Programs).

Additionally, any supplier listed in the OASIS database must set someone up as the OASIS Administrator. This designated person will be the contact point with regards to OASIS, and is responsible for maintaining accurate supplier data in the system (i.e. - supplier name, address, etc.). This person is also the only contact who can grant access to view pertinent audit assessment details. An OASIS user cannot access audit data without first gaining permission from the suppliers' listed OASIS administrator.

If any aerospace certified supplier refuses to be a part of OASIS, or refuses to set up an OASIS administrator, Certification Bodies are required by the IAQG to revoke the certificate of registration.

The very first step to get involved with OASIS is to become a registered user. Anyone can become a registered user, and you do not need to hold an active aerospace certificate in order to become a user. Visit the OASIS database at http://www.iaqg.org/oasis and click on the "Register to get Access" link.

PRI Registrar specializes in the aerospace certification industry, and has been working with the OASIS database for many years. Our knowledgeable staff would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Should you have any further questions regarding this information, please feel free to contact: Connie Hess, PRI Registrar Process Coordinator (724-772-8683)

AS9100 Rev. C Standard was published in January, 2009

It is official; the new AS9100 Rev. C Standard was published in January, 2009. The information below was reprinted from the ANAB website www.anab.org.

This Heads Up is being issued as notice to all aerospace CBs that SAE has now published AS9100C.

The revised standard is available for purchase at the following SAE link: http://www.sae.org/.

The release of the standard in the Americas sector has generated some questions regarding client transition and auditor training. The latest information on these topics is provided below.

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) will be communicating aerospace client transition expectations. The IAQG has proposed a 30-month timeline for existing certified organizations to transition (see following page). However, due to the need for global harmonization and release of supporting standards the start date for transition has not been set.

The On-line Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) database will be used to communicate IAQG expectations and track client transition activity via CB issuance of AS9100C certificates. The AS9100C transition start date will be communicated via OASIS when it becomes available.

In regard to auditor training, the IAQG Other Party Management Team (OPMT) is developing sanctioned training for aerospace auditors. All Aerospace Auditors (AA, AEA, and AIEA) will be required to complete this supplemental training prior to conducting any AS9100C audits for certification purposes under the Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) process. This training will cover the transition and client assessment to the 9100 series of standards (9100, 9101, 9110, and 9120). The supplemental auditor training will be available in 2009.

Based on the above information, no organization should be certified to the updated AS9100C standard at this time. However, the IAQG OPMT has recognized that organizations may want to upgrade their existing certificate to the revised ISO 9001:2008 standard. This is acceptable and the IAQG OPMT addressed this upgrade via IAQG OPMT resolution number 55. All IAQG ICOP Resolutions can be found at the following link: http://www.sae.org/iaqgdb/oasishelp/IAQGResolutionLog.xls.

It is recommended that you purchase the Standard at your earliest convenience in order to review the changes and begin any necessary preparations to ensure compliance. As noted above, the Standard can be purchased at www.sae.org.

  1. One year after publication of ISO 9001:2008 all accredited certifications issued (new certifications and re-certifications) shall be to ISO 9001:2008.
  2. Twenty-four months after the publication of ISO 9001:2008, any existing certification issued to ISO 9001:2000 shall not be valid.
